The wood working is complete!

I finally got all the wood working done on the boat. I started the long process of finish sanding so that I can start varnishing the wood. Once it is completely varnished All I need to do is puf a new coat of linex on it to match the dry storage door better. Last of all is the paint and the finishing touches. Here is a picture of all the wood working complete.

The Breast Hook!

I got the breast hook done also. It took a while fitting it because it also only fit one way, and one way only. After I got it cut out I epoxied the 2 pieces together. Once they were dry I cut the curves out. Now All I need to do is rout the bottom then glue it into place. I will be routing the top and the rest of the gunnel at the same time to keep it consistent.

The front deck is in!

Finally the front deck has been epoxied in place. It took a while to fit because it could only fit one way. Once I double checked it would fit I epoxied it to seal the wood. Here is a picture of it installed.

It is so close but still so far away!

The boat is so close but still so far away from being completed. Since the last update I have done a lot of work. I have had the floor and bottom sprayed with truck bed liner (inside gray, outside black), the oarlock blocks are in, front pedistall where dry storage will be underneath the seat is in, the bow eye hook is in, the drain plug is in, and the gunnels are done. The boat looks great but a little dusty in the picture. There will be more pictures to come soon!

The Work Began Again!

Over my summer break I did not work on my boat at all. I had too much going on (fishing) to actually get work done on it. Now that summer has passed I have started working on it again. From the pictures coming soon you will be able to see all the progress.

Seats anyone?

It has been a while since I have updated the blog. I have been sanding on the inside of the boat for a while now. I completed the sanding on the inside and began to build the rowers seat. Also my grand parents came up from California and decided to stop by and check out the boat. They were greatly impressed. Once the rowers seat is installed I will update the blog with pictures of it before I put the front bench in. As you can see the pictures are of me beginning to work on the seat, and of my grand parents and myself.

The hull completly put together!!!

Here are a few pictures of the entire hull of the boat put together. Now I have to fiberglass the seams and get it ready for line-x to be sprayed on the bottom. I also have to sand down some of the edges. That is all for now. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Starting to look like a boat!

Yesterday my buddies and I stayed at school until 6:15. We put the hull of th boat together. I will post pictures of it all. It took a while to get the sides on but it was not too bad. The stuff in the middle of the boat is weight to bend the bottom to give it rocker.
